Garden Advice Services

Everyone’s garden is unique; each with its own soil type, microclimates and aspect. General garden advice from books and the Internet is great, but it doesn’t always work in your garden. What can really help is personal gardening advice and support from a trained horticulturalist.

As part of my service I will visit you in your own garden to give one-to-one advice on your gardening needs. This could include an introduction to gardening, border design, garden design, gardening with children, recommending plants for difficult places (boggy, windy and shady etc), growing from seed and cuttings, pruning techniques, growing vegetables and general maintenance.  You decide how long the advice session will last for and you can also book a series of sessions over the gardening season.

“These suggestions look absolutely brilliant! Have just printed them off to discuss with Steve. Now feeling excited about the prospect of putting your ideas into practice! We hugely appreciate how generous you’ve been with your time.”

Marian & Steve in Lancaster – Garden Advice Clients

“Sue has helped me plan and plant a border with plants that suit and thrive in my garden. it looks fantastic too! Gone are the days of spending a fortune on random plants from the garden centre which look great but dislike my soil and conditions. Learning the basics such as how to dig properly, tease out roots and harden off plants has improved my confidence with coping with my own garden and made gardening much more pleasurable.”

“Thanks for taking so much time with me talking through all the options.  I would be stuck with what to do, left to my own devices, so this is really a springboard to take steps to make the space a bit more our own.”

“ Sue was an excellent help in coming to offer her Garden Advice. She has very good detailed knowledge of the plants and shrubs and what would work well where. Her written report afterwards has been a great help in ensuring I carried out the right work on the right plants at the right time! She even helped us site our new polytunnel appropriately and plan several new beds. I was delighted and can highly recommend her service to others. Thanks Sue!
